Australian Music Week

About

Australian Music Week

After a widely successful inaugural event in 2015, Australian Music Week took place 2-4 November 2016 at it’s home of Cronulla Beach in Sydney. Showcase Scotland Expo received 27 applications from artists to travel to Australia following an open call. An independent selection panel chose Bella Hardy and Talisk to showcase at the event. Both artists performed at a very successful reception organised by Showcase Scotland Expo featuring Arran whisky and delicious Scottish food. They also performed at public concerts as part of the wider AMW program.

Showcase Scotland Expo producer Lisa Whytock attended the 2017 event which once again took place in Cronulla Beach in November. Due to the high costs involved in travelling to Australia it was decided that no artists would showcase this year. The steering group will review this for future events although, with The Visit 2018 focusing on the Australian and New Zealand markets, it may be 2019 before this is considered again.

Objectives

The conference includes a buyers program as well as panels, masterclasses and networking sessions lead by some of the most successful and influential people in the business.
