Talisk win Belhaven Bursary for Innovation in Scottish Music
Talisk will take over this award from Elephant Sessions in April 2019. The Belhaven Bursary was set up by the Belhaven Brewery in conjunction with Showcase Scotland Expo following discussions at the Festival Interceltic Lorient in 2017. As well as the £25,000 cash prize, which matches the Mercury Prize, the band will have a special beer brewed in their name and will perform as part of the Tartan Day celebrations in New York in April 2020.
Our aim is to further the live export opportunities for Scottish based artists working in the genres of folk, traditional, Scots, Gaelic, world and acoustic music. We aim to forge relationships with overseas music trade events and to lobby for showcase opportunities for Scottish based artists.
We also produce The Visit an inward bound mission for the overseas music industry, which targets industry from key territories to visit Scotland to see if our best musicians perform and meet the wider Scottish music industry.
